For adults ages 18 and up. Dr. Vail usually meets once or twice weekly with individual patients, and can be available between sessions for brief coaching sessions by phone. The first meeting is a consultation with Dr. Vail.
Dr. Vail leads two different groups. Each meets once a week for 90 minutes.
DBT SKILLS TRAINING
This group is recommended for individuals who struggle with chaotic emotions, stormy relationships, frequent crises and self-harm urges or behaviors. Skills training is part of the DBT focus on helping people build lives worth living. Meets Monday evenings.
"WHAT DO I WANT?"
This interpersonal process group seeks to help members build awareness of their feelings and wants in the moment, and then figure out what to do with them. Members are then much better equipped for life outside the group. Meets Thursday evenings.
Dr. Vail consults regularly with fellow therapists looking for alternative perspectives on our clinical work. Dr. Vail collaborates extensively with group members' individual therapists. Dr. Vail maintains regular communication with other providers, including psychiatrists and nutritionists.
